CLEP
- CLEP exam credits will be entered on a student’s Northeast Community College transcript only if the student is currently enrolled or has graduated from Northeast Community College.
- Every institution sets its own polices regarding CLEP. If you think you might transfer to another institution you should know the policy of both institutions before you take the exam.
- You can take only two exams on any given exam date.
- You must wait 180 days to retake a failed CLEP exam.
- CLEP has a standard passing score of 50 in all exams except in the foreign language exams. To receive 2 years of credit in Spanish you must score 66 or above or you must score 62 or above in French.
- All CLEP testing is computer-based. Your results are immediately available upon completion of the exam.
Registration Information
- Select your CLEP exam. If you are unsure of which CLEP test you need, contact your academic advisor, the registrar, or the test center.
- You must register for an appointment to take the CLEP test. All CLEP tests are 90 minutes.
- You must pay $20.00 administration fee to Northeast Community College when you register to test. The fee is nonrefundable.
- On of date of the exam, you pay $65.00 for your CLEP test. The preferred method is a credit card. (Master card, Visa, or American Express) Checks and money orders made out to CLEP are also acceptable. Cash is not a payment option.
The Day of the Exam
Please bring the following:
- Photo ID
- Secondary ID-Social Security card, student ID, employee ID, military ID, an unused ID from the primary choices above
- Credit card, check, or money order for the CLEP test
No one will be allowed to test without payment of both fees and/or without a photo ID and a secondary ID.
