Welcome . . .

The Northeast Community College Chapter of the American Association for Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) was founded in 1993. We now have 44 members who support numerous projects with our time, talents, and money on campus and in the community.

The purposes of this organization are:

  • to encourage educational program development for women in community colleges;
  • to support women in leadership roles;
  • to develop communications among women in community colleges;
  • to promote and offer local and state workshops, presentations, and conferences for women in community colleges;
  • to cultivate fellowship among employees of Northeast Community College;
  • to disseminate information on courses, programs, and services for professional women.

AAWCC Projects and Fundraising

The National American Association for Women in Community Colleges was organized in 1973 and became a Council of the American Association of Community and Junior Colleges (AACJC), now the American Association for Community Colleges (AACC). In response to an affirmative vote of the membership, the organization's name was officially changed on April 26, 1993 to the American Association for Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC).
