| Distance Education Distance Education is a convenient way for students
who cannot travel to Norfolk to take classes. Through the
use of online, telecourses, and interactive distance learning
courses, students are now able to attend college classes
in communities throughout the region or in their homes.
Telecourses are offered via video tape series. The
student watches the weekly lectures on their television
at home and completes the assignments prepared by a Northeast
College instructor. The student talks to the instructor
individually via telephone as needed to receive additional
instruction and assistance.
An additional method of distance education technology is
via interactive distance learning instruction. The
instructor can both see and hear the student and the student
can both see and hear the instructor as well as the other
students at the other sites. Sites in Northeast's 20-county
service area are on the Northeast Distance Learning Partnership
map.
Online courses are offered via the Internet and
are available to students anywhere in the world. The student
may communicate with the instructor via email, telephone,
or face-to-face.
