Course Description: Designed to provide an opportunity for students to learn and adopt methods to promote their success in college. Topics include: time management, test-taking, reading, note-taking, memory, study techniques, library use, development of critical and creative thinking, communication skills, diversity, understanding the value of your health as a student, money management, relationships, available campus-community-state resources, and goal setting techniques.
Course Objectives: Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- Understand how different text ideas are mere tools to be used as a student or in life when they apply best.
- Discover time management skills necessary for success in college, business, and life. *

- Explore different reading techniques that can be used in different styles of classes.

In order to receive a passing grade for LNSK 1100, students must complete:
- Sufficient work assigned by their instructors to earn a course grade of “C” or better.
- To ensure that this objective is met, a minimum grade of “C” in LNSK 1100 is required to qualify for transfer.
