| 2005-2006 Men's Basketball Team Outlook
The Northeast Men’s basketball team is coming off a successful 2004-05 season (18-13). We will miss key players like Tylor Fincher (UN-K) and Ryan Lowry. The Hawks have five key returning players: Limar Wilson, a 5’11” guard from Orlando, FL, Kenmario Lightbourne, a 5’10” guard from Nassau, Bahamas, Jeffrey Henfield, a 6’4” guard from Nassau, Bahamas, Ruot “RC” Chuol, a 6’6” forward from Fairbault, MN, and Gjio Bain, a 7’0” center from Nassau, Bahamas.
“The Hawks men’s team will have many new faces on its 2005-06 roster. Putting these new players with the experienced veterans should lead to a good ball club. I’m very pleased with our potential. It’s a great group to be around.”
We signed Matt Hadenfeldt, a 6’1” guard from Lynch, NE. We also signed Jere Taylor a 5’8” guard from Hammond, IN, and Julous Coleman, a 5’11” guard from Richmond, IN. Julous’s father, Jerry Coleman, played at Northeast in 1987-89. We also added another good player from the Bahamas by the name of Kevin Armstrong, a 6’4” forward. We signed Mason Nelms from Indianola, NE. Mason is a 6’6” center. Also added to the mix is Adam Blaylock, a 6’1” guard from Norfolk High School. Rounding out our freshmen class is Jamarial Chancellor, a 6’8” forward from Garland, TX.
We are also looking forward to Cyrus Tate’s debut. Cyrus transferred to Northeast in the Spring of 2005. Matt Gaunt, who played high school ball at Lutheran High Northeast, is walking on.
“We are excited. We as a team have big expectations. The team’s hard work during the pre-season should make this a fun group to watch. It should be an outstanding season.”
